Binacrombi in Spring

Binacrombi Bush Telegraph – No. 15

September, 2024

It’s been a while since we last chatted. I won’t bore you with the details  but let’s just say that the river of life has a habit of sweeping us along faster than intended. You look up from navigating some rapids and realise that a lot of time has passed since last touching base.

Winter has come and gone, rain, sleet, sunshine and snow. Many guests have been through, enjoying our cabins/ camping, testing our tracks and challenging our resident boxer. The list of repairs is still a little daunting, but we continue to tackle it one task at a time.

Cabins 5 & 6 have been in Peter and my sights over the past few weeks. New curtains have been installed, doors repaired – although yet to be painted – and we have some glassed cupboards to be installed for the plates and cups. We’re also talking about tiling the bathrooms/ toilets…

Cabins 1 – 4 have proved difficult for several weeks with plumbing issues and tanks emptying and I wanted to say a big thank you to several guests who patiently allowed us to work through all the issues. We are very grateful for the grace afforded us and hope that when you next visit Bina, you will find it to be the relaxing holiday you intended.

Now! Onto the fun!

Spring has reached us, although the warmer weather will be sporadic until probably closer to the end of October. But Bina is putting on her finest. Trees are blossoming and on the hill at cabins 1 – 4 the daffodils have sprouted once again. No signs of the scaly critters yet, but plenty of birds and our resident kookaburras are often somewhere close laughing up a storm, especially towards dusk. I’ve seen a lot of deer tracks but the older buck that used to graze on the hill at cabins 1 – 4 hasn’t been seen for a while now.
